Running for:
- President
- Senator of Activities听听 听
Recently, I have been granted the honor as Senator of Activities to give back to the 188bet备用网址 community that has provided me so much. With the current and prior experience, I believe it will play a significant role if elected again. I would like to be a listening ear and a shoulder for the student body to lean on throughout the term. 188bet备用网址 students should be prioritized and adequately represented through ASDC. In doing so, I would like to be the voice that is not ashamed of bringing forth issues as well as being open-minded to all sides. I believe transparent communication is vital and without it, there will be a disconnect which I faced my first year at 188bet备用网址. I have the ability to be unbiased when addressing issues, and seeing the bigger picture rather than being narrow-minded. Beyond qualifications, I would like to enhance my skills and continue finding who I am. This opportunity would not only be an elected leadership position, but to continue shaping perspectives and seeking my individuality. Overall, I believe I am qualified to serve within office and create long-lasting ripples in the 188bet备用网址 community.

As the current Secretary of ASDC, I have the experience and knowledge regarding the duties and responsibilities of ASDC. I have witnessed its capabilities and their flaws, and because of that, I can work to improve its system, making it more efficient and engaging to the student body.
Other than that, I am also personable and active on campus. I have good relationships with students belonging to various communities, am friends with some faculty and staff on campus, and am well-connected to leaders of different programs and departments at San Joaquin 188bet备用网址 College. With my good relations, I can collaborate with various people to fight for a cause and make this campus a better place for the students.听
My goals are to have more student engagement and collaborations with other departments, hoping to achieve a good community here in 188bet备用网址. I aim to create Senator positions for the Mountain House and Manteca campus, as well as ICC. I plan to promote ASDC more and let people know our relevance. As the current ASDC Treasurer, I鈥檝e had the opportunity to manage ASDC budget, track expenses, and ensure our funds are used responsible to support events and programs that matter to our campus community. This experience has taught me how to handle financial responsibilities with care and accuracy. I鈥檓 passionate about student leadership and committed to showing up, supporting others, and creating a positive impact. I believe in teamwork, accountability, and always striving to do better. These same values are what drive me to run for both Treasurer and Secretary鈥攂ecause effective leadership also means keeping things organized, and helping our team stay on the same page. I鈥檒l continue to work hard, stay organized, and represent our student body with integrity.

Chelsea Leon
Running for:
- Senator at Large 1
- Senator at Large 2
I鈥檓 a proud Latinx, LGBTQ+ and first-generation college student who knows what it feels like to be unheard鈥攁nd how powerful it is when someone finally listens. That鈥檚 why I鈥檓 running: not just to represent, but to create space for others to be seen, supported, and celebrated.
I鈥檝e learned to lead by showing up even when it鈥檚 hard, by listening with care, and by speaking up when it matters. I want to bring that same energy to our student government鈥攚hether that means planning events that actually reflect our community, advocating for the voices that are often left out, or simply being someone others can come to and trust.
I don鈥檛 pretend to have all the answers. But I care deeply. I work hard. And I believe we rise by lifting others. I鈥檓 not just here to be a title鈥擨鈥檓 here to make a difference, no matter how big or small.

I am the best candidate for the Legislative Affairs/Community Relations position through deep commitment to amplifying student voices and driving meaningful change through policy and community engagement. I believe education is a fundamental right, and my background in Speech and Debate, along with Mock Trial, has equipped me to break down complex issues, communicate effectively, and advocate confidently for the community. While challenges and differing viewpoints may arise, my approach is rooted in thoughtful action and inclusive representation. Through my work with nonprofits such as Stockton Stands and EMAC, I have developed strong connections that bridge the gap between local organizations and community colleges, fostering diversity and creating opportunities for collaboration. These partnerships will allow me to expand access to educational resources and positively influence legislation by supporting bills that protect student rights or opposing those that don't. I take a holistic approach to student advocacy, prioritizing not just economic concerns but the diverse needs of all students. This mindset has allowed me to analyze complex issues, craft persuasive arguments, and advocate for solutions that address the educational needs of every student. With these experiences and values, I am confident that I am the best candidate for this role.
